Happy Galungan Day

Tomorrow marks the start of the Galungan holiday period.  Many businesses will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday and reopen on Friday.

During the Galungan period the deified ancestors of the family descend to their former homes. They must be suitably entertained and welcomed, and prayers and offerings must be made for them. Those families who have ancestors that have not yet been cremated, but are still buried in the village cemetery, must make offerings at the graves.

Carrefour opens store in Singaraja

The popular French supermarket and department store Carrefour, have now opened a store in Singaraja, Bali. 

Singaraja already has two Hardys supermarkets and the addition of Carrefour will be welcomed by local and foreign residents of Singaraja and Lovina.

The store will employ over 100 local residents and stock nearly 20 000 products.  The store occupies an area of 1200 square meters on Surapati Street.

Welcome to our new blog!

I have decided to start my own blog to write a little about what is happening in Lovina, Bali and about some of the properties featured on our Lovina Property website.

We are currently in the rainy season here in Bali and it is a little cooler than normal.  Lovina has had pretty good rain falls over the past couple of months.  Some days it has been very difficult to go and look at new property and show clients property.  At least customers will get some idea as to what it is like in the rainy season and check if the house has a problem with a leaky roof!
